Born the Year of the Wood Dragon
materials: wire, cobb, paper clay, acrylic
This piece was made this year during the pandemic quarantine. It is a self portrait of a child hood memory of discovering that in the Chinese Zodiac I was born the year of the wood dragon and it's traits of being a resilient warrior along with the ability to come up with revolutionary ideas to try and change the world one step at a time.
" Willing to experience aloneness, I discover connection everywhere.
Turning my face to fear, I meet the warrior who lives within me. Opening to my loss I am given unimaginable gifts.
Surrendering in to the unknown, I embrace the in between."
